ENGINEER GREENHOUSE CONSTRUCTION

As Engineer Greenhouse Construction you will have a crucial role in engineering process at Dalsem. Your primary responsibility is related to planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of greenhouses.

Your main tasks will include:

• Project planning and design: collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and objectives. Develop detailed greenhouse construction plans, including layout, structural design, and systems integration. Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
• Structural design and analysis: design greenhouse structures, including framing, foundation, and roofing systems, for stability and longevity. Conduct structural analysis to ensure the greenhouse can withstand environmental stressors, such as wind and snow loads.
• Systems Integration: plan and implement heating, cooling, ventilation, irrigation, and automation systems to create optimal growing conditions. Select and specify appropriate equipment and technologies for greenhouse operations.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project records, including plans, reports, and correspondence.
• Environmental Considerations: Implement eco-friendly and sustainable practices in greenhouse construction where applicable. Advise on energy-efficient technologies and practices.

You will recognize in yourself that you:

• Have a strong technical background, in the horticulture industry is a plus.
• Have knowledge of structural engineering principles is essential for designing the framework of the greenhouse, ensuring it can withstand environmental stresses like wind and snow loads.
• Are familiar with greenhouse-specific considerations, such as environmental controls, shading systems, irrigation, and humidity management, is advantageous.
• In order to be successful in this position, we expect you to have a Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, combined with several years of experience within engineering.

Moreover, you will bring with you:

• Several years’ of cross-functional experience through engineering in a related functional area
• Experience with AutoCad and Inventor
• Proficiency in engineering software, data analysis, and automation systems
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Passion for sustainable horticultural practices and resource conservation
