About the role as Project Manager
In the role of Project manager you will lead and oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of greenhouse construction projects. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of these projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the required quality and environmental standards. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Reporting Line
The Project Manager reports to the head of Project Management Office (PMO). 
The Project Manager provides functional leadership to the project team. 

This is a senior role within the Project Management Organisation which involves both strategic and operational thinking in order to successfully operate the business as well as drive change through the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including project scopes, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements, tailored to new build greenhouse projects.
  • Lead project team(s), assign responsibilities, and provide guidance to team members throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure that all necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements related to greenhouse projects are obtained and maintained.
  • Oversee, together with procurement and site management, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services within budget constraints.
  • Together with the Finance department, create, monitor, and control project budgets, tracking expenses and adjusting as necessary to stay within budgetary constraints. Develop project schedules and timelines, track progress, and make adjustments to ensure adherence to project milestones.
  • Establish and enforce Dalsem quality standards for the greenhouse construction and commissioning, overseeing inspections and quality control processes.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, team members, and senior management, providing regular updates on project status.
  • Efficiently allocate and manage project resources, including labor, materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, reports and change orders.
  • Ensure that safety protocols and guidelines are followed throughout the project to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Oversee the successful completion of projects, including final inspections, handover of deliverables, and documentation of lessons learned.


Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, or project management.
  • Proven experience in project management, specifically in greenhouse construction or related agricultural projects.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or relevant industry certifications.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English is required.
  • Experience with sustainable and environmentally friendly greenhouse practices is nice to have.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards related to greenhouse projects-.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and Microsoft Office Suite is nice to have
