We have been here for almost a century. From the Dutch Westland, we have grown across borders, taking root on every continent. Today, our greenhouses are needed more than ever to help feed the world with healthy, safe and affordable food.

At Dalsem, technology works hand in hand with nature’s finest. Every detail inside our greenhouse is engineered with precision to create the ideal environment for growth. We don’t believe in shortcuts, quality takes time. That’s why we will be here for generations to come. For plants, for the people, and for the planet.

A true family‑owned company

Dalsem’s origins can be traced back to 1932, when Kasper Dalsem began working as a blacksmith in the Westland region: the traditional heart of Dutch horticulture. This laid the foundation for the company as it is known today.

Greenhouse construction was its primary activity for many years. Over time, the company gradually broadened its horizons. Today, Dalsem works on both complete greenhouse projects and individual systems, such as irrigation and heating projects.

Dalsem’s factory now covers 60,000 m² and is located in Den Hoorn.

Smart Greenhouses for a Sustainable Future

“Producing food in greenhouses often also offers the opportunity to reduce environmental impact compared to open-field cultivation.”
Frank van der Gelt
Chief Executive Officer

Climate-adaptive greenhouse innovation

We develop closed-loop, high-tech systems that capture and reuse excess heat, enabling efficient food production in arid and climate-stressed regions.

Reduced resource use, maximized efficiency

By optimizing cultivation technologies and operational performance, we work to significantly lower water use per kilogram of food and reduce the carbon footprint of our greenhouses through greener alternatives for high-impact materials.

Designed for circularity

We increase circularity at end-of-life, by ensuring that 100% of structural greenhouse materials (steel, aluminum, glass) are recyclable by 2030.
